DRAFT RULES TO PROTECT ENDANGERED SPECIES ACT-LISTED FISH -- BRIEFING:

Department staff briefed the Commission on the draft rules to protect Endangered Species Act-Listed fish. Public input on and Commission consideration of adoption of the rule proposals will occur at the June 7-8, 2002 meeting.

DEPARTMENT 2002 SUPPLEMENTAL BUDGET IMPLEMENTATION PLAN:

Jim Lux presented the Department's proposed 2002 Supplemental Budget Implementation Plan.

No oral testimony on the proposed supplemental budget implementation plan was received.

Commissioner Van Gytenbeek moved, seconded by Commissioner Ozment, to approve the Department's proposed 2002 Supplemental Budget Implementation Plan. The motion carried unanimously.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

Commissioner Roehl moved, seconded by Commissioner Van Gytenbeek, to approve the Minutes of the following:

- February 8-9, 2002 Commission meeting
- February 21, 2002 Commission conference call
- March 21, 2002 Commission conference call.

The motion to approve the Minutes carried unanimously.

RECENT ACTIVITIES:

Commissioners, Director Koenings, and Deputy Director Peck discussed recent activities and items of interest.

Josh Weiss provided the Commission with a legislative session update.

John Mankowski provided the Commission with an update on the Federal Farm Bill.

Department Supplemental Budget Implementation Plan

Motion by Van Gytenbeek, second by Ozment, to approve the Department's proposed 2002 Supplemental Budget Implementation Plan. The motion carried unanimously. The motion to approve the Minutes carried unanimously.

Approval of Commission Minutes

Motion by Roehl, second by Van Gytenbeek, to approve the Minutes of the following:

-- February 8-9, 2002 Commission meeting
-- February 21, 2002 Commission conference call
-- March 21, 2002 Commission conference call.

The motion to approve the Minutes carried unanimously.
