CONFERENCE CALL January 19, 2007 - 8:30 a.m. Olympia, Washington ATTENDANCE: Commission Department Jerry Gutzwiler, Chair Larry Peck, Deputy Director Miranda Wecker, Vice Chair Tom Davis, Legislative Office Ken Chew Gary Douvia Conrad Mahnken Chuck Perry Will Roehl Fred Shiosaki Public Commission Staff: None Susan Yeager PETITION TO AMEND RULES FOR HUNTING ON VASHON ISLAND - DECISION: Commissioner Roehl moved, seconded by Commissioner Mahnken, to deny the petition to have the Department commence rule-making amending the rules for hunting on Vashon Island. The petitioner is to work directly with King County on hunting rules on Vashon Island. The motion carried unanimously. LEGISLATIVE SESSION UPDATE: Commissioners and Tom Davis discussed the status of and commissioner viewpoints on legislation related to the conservation and management of fish and wildlife resources in Washington State. COMMISSION SUBCOMMITTEES: The Commission reviewed the current guidelines for committees and considered possible changes. GENERAL DISCUSSION: Commissioners and Deputy Director Peck discussed recent activities and items of interest.
