ATTENDANCE: Commission Department Lisa Pelly, Chair None Kelly White, Vice Chair Russ Cahill Public Don Heinicke None Dean Lydig John McGlenn Facilitator Pat McMullen Jim Reid Will Roehl Bob Tuck Chair Pelly called the work session to order at 1:00 p.m. on July 10. Jim Reid facilitated the work session. The following topics were discussed:
- The history of the Commission and its predecessors
- The roles and responsibilities of the Commission
- Becoming an effective Commission
- Asserting leadership
- Citizen assistance to the Commission
- The Commission's committee structure
- Building trust within the Commission, the Department, and the community
- The qualities desired in a new Director
- What does the Director need from the Commission
- What does the Commission need from the Director
- Strategies to create effective relations with the public
- The Commission's priorities
Chair Pelly adjourned the work session at 12 noon on July 11.
