CONFERENCE CALL May 4, 2007 - 8:30 a.m. Olympia, Washington ATTENDANCE: Commission Department Jerry Gutzwiler, Chair Larry Peck, Deputy Director Miranda Wecker, Vice Chair Jeff Tayer, Region 3 Director Ken Chew Dan Budd, Wildlife Program Gary Douvia Tom Davis, Legislative Office Chuck Perry Ron McQueen, Business Services Will Roehl Shirley Solomon Public Commission Staff: None Susan Yeager Chair Gutzwiler called the conference call to order at 8:30 a.m. The Commission decided to call a Special Meeting on May 23, 2007, in Olympia to discuss strategic planning, performance and accountability, and other issues. PROPOSED LAND TRANSACTION - DECISION: Dan Budd presented for approval one proposed land transaction No oral testimony on the proposed land transaction was received during the conference call. Commissioner Perry moved, seconded by Commissioner Chew, to approve the acquisition of the 800-acre Trust for Public Lands/American Minerals property in Kittitas County for $400,00. The motion carried unanimously. LEGISLATIVE SESSION UPDATE: Tom Davis, Ron McQueen, and Commissioners discussed the status of and Commissioner viewpoints on legislation related to the conservation and management of fish and wildlife resources in Washington State. PERFORMANCE AND ACCOUNTABILITY: Deputy Director Peck and Commissioners discussed the development of public survey questions relative to the Department's Strategic Plan. GENERAL DISCUSSION: Commissioners and Department staff discussed recent activities and items of interest. Chair Gutzwiler adjourned the conference call at 11:30 a.m. MEMOS AND AUTHORITIES FROM THE MAY 4, 2007 FISH AND WILDLIFE COMMISSION CONFERENCE CALL, OLYMPIA Approval of Land Transaction - Motion by Perry, second by Chew, to approve the acquisition of the 800-acre Trust for Public lands/American Minerals property in Kittitas County for $400,00.
