CONFERENCE CALL May 18, 2007 - 8:30 a.m. Olympia, Washington ATTENDANCE: Commission Department Jerry Gutzwiler, Chair Jeff Koenings, Director Miranda Wecker, Vice Chair Morris Barker, Fish Program Ken Chew Dan Budd, Wildlife Program Gary Douvia Bruce Bjork, Enforcement Conrad Mahnken Chuck Perry Public Commission Staff: None Susan Yeager SEA URCHIN AND SEA CUCUMBER LICENSE BUYBACK PROGRAMS - RULE ACTION: Morris Barker presented permanent rule amendments to WAC 220-95-100, Sea urchin license reduction program; and WAC 220-95-110, Sea cucumber license reduction program. The changes would raise the maximum bid amounts for sea cucumber and sea urchin licenses. The public hearing opportunity was during the April 6-7, 2007, Commission meeting in Ellensburg. Commissioner Wecker moved, seconded by Commissioner Douvia, to adopt the permanent rule amendments to WAC 220-95-100, Sea urchin license reduction program, and WAC 220-95-110, Sea cucumber license reduction program, as presented by staff. The motion carried unanimously. POLICY DOCUMENT REVIEW: The Commission reviewed the current draft Commission Policy Document and discussed potential revisions. The Commission will further discuss the Policy Document, along with new goals and objectives for the Director, at its May 23, 2007, Commission Special Meeting in Olympia. GENERAL DISCUSSION: Commissioners and Director Koenings discussed recent activities and items of interest.
