CONFERENCE CALL October 3, 2002 - 9:00 a.m. Olympia, Washington ATTENDANCE: Commission Department Russ Cahill, Chair Jeff Koenings, Director Will Roehl, Vice Chair Larry Peck, Deputy Director Ron Ozment John Flanagan Dawn Reynolds Harvey Childs Fred Shiosaki Morris Barker Bob Tuck Kelly White Commission Staff: Public: None Nancy Burkhart APPROVAL OF ADDITION TO PROPOSED 2003 SUPPLEMENTAL BUDGET REQUEST: OYSTER RESERVE ACCOUNT SPENDING AUTHORITY: Morris Barker presented an addition to the Department's proposed 2003 Supplemental Operating Budget Request for Oyster Reserve Account Spending Authority. No oral testimony on the request was received during this portion of the conference call. Commissioner Reynolds moved, seconded by Commissioner Shiosaki, to approve the addition to the Department's proposed 2003 Supplemental Operating Budget Request for Oyster Reserve Account Spending Authority. The motion to approve the addition carried unanimously. APPROVAL OF 2003 SUPPLEMENTAL CAPITAL BUDGET REQUEST: OIL SPILL CLEAN UP: Harvey Childs presented the 2003 Supplemental Capital Budget Request Oil Spill Clean up. No oral testimony on the request was received during this portion of the conference call. Commissioner Reynolds moved, seconded by Commission Ozment, to approve the Department's proposed 2003 Supplemental Capital Budget Request for submission to the Office of Financial Management. The motion to approve the 2003 Supplemental Capital Budget Request carried unanimously. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Commissioner White moved, seconded by Commissioner Reynolds, to approve the minutes of the September 19, 2002 Commission conference call. The motion to approve the minutes carried unanimously. RECENT ACTIVITIES: Commissioners and Director Koenings discussed recent activities and items of interest. COMMISSION EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT POSITION: The Commission immediately went into Executive Session to discuss the Commission's Executive Assistant position. Chair Cahill reconvened the conference call. Commissioner Roehl moved, seconded by Commissioner Reynolds, to offer the Commission's Executive Assistant position to Susan Yeager at the salary of $3,964.00 per month, with a starting date of October 21, 2002. The motion to offer the position to Susan Yeager carried.
