CONFERENCE CALL September 7, 2007 - 8:30 a.m. Olympia, Washington ATTENDANCE: Commission Department Jerry Gutzwiler, Chair Jeff Koenings, Director Ken Chew Bruce Bjork, Chief, Enforcement Program Gary Douvia Tom Davis, Special Assistant - Legislative Conrad Mahnken Steve Pozzanghera, Wildlife Program Chuck Perry Nathan Pamplin, Wildlife Program Shirley Solomon John Andrews, Region 1 Director Commission Staff: Public Susan Yeager None Chair Gutzwiler called the conference call to order at 8:35 a.m. 2008 AGENCY REQUEST LEGISLATION - DECISION: Commissioner Solomon moved, seconded by Commissioner Chew, to approve the Department’s 2008 Agency Request Legislation package as presented. The motion carried unanimously. POTENTIAL SPECIAL MEETING DATES – DISCUSSION: The Commission discussed potential dates and agenda topics for a special meeting to take place either November 14 or 16, 2007, with the Northwest Indian Fisheries Commission. DRAFT COMMISSION COMPENSATION GUIDELINES: The Commission reviewed and discussed draft guidelines for determining Commission workdays eligible for compensation under RCW 77.04.060 and RCW 43.03.250. 2008 COMMISSION MEETING CALENDAR – DISCUSSION: The Commission discussed potential dates and locations for its 2008 regular meetings. The Commission will consider finalizing the 2008 regular meeting calendar at its October 12-13, 2007, Commission meeting in Olympia. GENERAL DISCUSSION: Commissioners and Department staff discussed recent activities and items of interest. Chair Gutzwiler adjourned the meeting at 11:33 a.m. MEMOS AND AUTHORITIES FROM THE SEPTEMBER 7, 2007 FISH AND WILDLIFE COMMISSION CONFERENCE CALL, OLYMPIA Approval of 2008 Agency Request Legislation - Motion by Solomon, second by Chew, to approve the Department’s 2008 Agency Request Legislation package.
