Ken Chew was first appointed to the Commission in November 2004, and
was reappointed by Governor Gregoire in 2005.
Before his retirement in 2004,
Dr. Chew served as associate dean of the College of Ocean and Fishery Sciences
and as director of the University of Washington’s Western Regional Aquaculture Center.
Ken holds a Ph.D. in fisheries from the University of Washington and is known
internationally for his scientific contributions to shellfish biology, aquaculture, and marine ecology. He has published more than 100 papers in scientific journals, reports, proceedings, book chapters,and trade publications.
