Kim Thorburn, Commissioner
Kim Thorburn was appointed to the Commission in March 2015. A retired public health physician, she is a life-long outdoorswoman. Kim has devoted much time to wildlife conservation as a volunteer with agencies and nonprofit organizations. She has considerable experience with policy development, including a short stint as chair of the Washington State Board of Health. Kim continues to pursue her interest in bioethics as a member of the Washington State University Institutional Review Board.
Kim and her husband Terry Allen reside in Spokane and enjoy hiking, horseback riding, cross country skiing, bird watching, and wildlife photography.
