Chair Pelly called the meeting to order at 6:12 p.m.

DEPARTMENT 1999-2001 OPERATING BUDGET:

Department staff presented for Commission approval the Department's decision packages for the 1999-2001 Operating Budget for submission to the Office of Financial Management.

Three individuals provided oral testimony on the decision packages during the meeting.

DEPARTMENT 1999-2001 CAPITAL BUDGET:

Department staff presented for Commission approval the Department's 1999-2001 Capital Budget for submission to the Office of Financial Management.

Three individuals provided oral testimony on the proposed budget during the meeting.

DEPARTMENT 1999 REQUEST LEGISLATION:

Department staff presented for Commission approval the Department's request legislation for the 1999 Legislative Session for submission to the Office of Financial Management.

Two individuals provided oral testimony on the proposed request legislation during the meeting.

Commissioner Roehl requested he be kept informed on the status of the border disputes issue.

Commissioner White moved, seconded by Commissioner Roehl, to approve the Department's proposed 1999-2001 operating and capital budgets and 1999 request legislation for submission to the Office of Financial Management.

Commissioner Cahill moved, seconded by Commissioner Tuck, to amend the motion to remove the revenue enhancement proposal for derby authority from the request legislation for further study and fiscal analysis. The motion to amend the motion carried unanimously.

Chair Pelly moved, seconded by Commissioner Tuck, to amend the motion to remove from the revenue enhancement proposal for advertising, sponsorship and sales authorities the following language: "Second, authority will be requested to acknowledge sponsorship by private parties and industry giving assistance that benefits fish and wildlife. This acknowledgment will be through publication and posting of signs." The motion to amend the motion failed.

The motion, as amended, carried.

Chair Pelly adjourned the meeting at 8:45 a.m.
