ADOPTION OF PUBLIC SAFETY
COUGAR REMOVALS WITH THE AID OF DOGS:
Department staff will present the following
rule proposals:
- WAC 232-12-243, Public
Safety Cougar Removals: This rule
would adjust the criteria for initiating
a public safety cougar removal, the number
of cougar to be removed, the bag limit,
and permit application procedure and conditions.
- Permanent amendment to WAC 232-28-272,
2000-2001, 2001-2002, and 2002-2003 Black
Bear and Cougar Hunting Seasons and Regulations:
This amendment would remove public safety
cougar removal regulations from this rule
and move them into the above new rule.
Public input on the rule proposals was
accepted at the August 3-4, 2001 Commission
meeting; additional public input will also
be accepted at this meeting. The Commission
will consider adoption of WAC 232-12-243,
Public Safety Cougar Removals, and a permanent
amendment to WAC 232-28-272, 2000-2001,
2001-2002, and 2002-2003 Black Bear and
Cougar Hunting Seasons and Regulations.

DIRECTIONS TO CLE ELUM-ROSLYN
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL:
Heading East on I-90: Take first Cle Elum exit. Go past Safeway store
on right; continue down hill one block and turn
left on Pine Street. Go two blocks and turn left
on 2nd Avenue (city park will be on the right).
Proceed out of town (on Highway 903) and continue
to the city of Roslyn (approx. 1.5 miles from
Cle Elum). School complex is on the left.
Heading West on I-90: Take second Cle Elum exit. At end of off ramp,
turn right on Oaks Avenue. Go straight and cross
1st Avenue. Turn left on 2nd Avenue. Proceed out
of town (on Highway 903) and continue to the city
of Roslyn (approx. 1.5 miles from Cle Elum). School
complex is on the left.
