RECREATIONAL LICENSE FEE STUDY:

Jim Lux provided a status report on the recreational license fee study.

PETITION TO AMEND WAC 232-28-619 -- CRAB CREEK -- WENDY THOMAS:

Commissioner Roehl moved, seconded by Commissioner Van Gytenbeek, to deny Wendy Thomas' Petition to:

- Amend WAC 232-28-619 and allow a year round fishery in Crab Creek; and

- Adopt an emergency rule to allow this fishery during May 2002.

The Commission directs the Department to include the proposal to allow a year round fishery in Crab Creek in the minor fishing rule-making cycle for 2003-2004. The motion carried unanimously. (Commissioner Tuck was absent during discussion and vote on the motion.)

The Commission requested the Department study Crab Creek and provide at the December Commission meeting new data on spawning walleye and snagging enforcement problems.

RECENT ACTIVITIES AND ITEMS OF INTEREST:

Commissioners and Deputy Director Peck discussed recent activities and items of interest.

The Commission requested a Department briefing on the Hunter Education Program and related issues be done at the June 7-8, 2002 Conmission meeting.

- Motion by Roehl, second by Van Gytenbeek, to deny Wendy Thomas' Petition to:
