COMMISSIONERS' DISCUSSION:
Commissioners will discuss recent activities and items of general interest and provide status reports on Commission committees.

DIRECTOR'S REPORT:
Director Koenings will review significant Department issues and activities.

The Commission is a direct link between citizens of Washington and the Department of Fish and Wildlife. We encourage you to share your views of Department programs and issues which concern you during this portion of the meeting. (NOTE: This time is set aside for those who cannot be present later in the day. BUDGET UPDATE:
Department staff will provide an update on the Department's current biennial budget.

Department staff will brief the Commission on a proposed rule that would formally establish an AHE and certificate suspension mechanism.

The Commission will consider approval of numerous proposed land transactions.

2. MANAGEMENT STATUS OF KEY GAME SPECIES AND THE THREE-YEAR HUNTING SEASON PACKAGE -- BRIEFING:
Department staff will brief the Commission on the population status of key game species and discuss management updates as they relate to the three-year hunting season package.

3. TURKEY TRANSLOCATION -- BRIEFING:
Department staff will brief the Commission on the turkey translocation program.

Department staff and Robin Estes (Washington Department of Natural Resources) will brief the Commission on the Department of Natural Resources' eastside land exchange as it relates to WDFW's recently completed Land Ownership Review.

5. COOPERATIVE MULE DEER PROJECT; NORTH COLVILLE COUGAR STUDY; AND CARIBOU PROJECT -- BRIEFING:
Department staff will brief the Commission on the cooperative mule deer project, north Colville cougar study, and the Caribou project.

6. COASTAL POLLOCK FISHERY MANAGEMENT -- BRIEFING:
Department staff will brief the Commission on management of the coastal pollock fishery.

Department staff will brief the Commission on mortality rates for sturgeon in sport catch-and-release fisheries, and the status of sturgeon in Lake Roosevelt.

Department staff will brief the Commission on the 2003-2004 sportfish rule proposals.

Directions and Access to Natural Resources Building: From I-5, take State Capitol exit (105). The exit puts you on 14th Avenue. Go through the tunnel and turn right onto Capitol Way. Turn right onto 11th Avenue. Turn right onto Washington. Turn left into the parking lot. Visitor parking is on the P-1 level of the building.

Public access to the Natural Resources Building after 5:30 p.m. and on Saturday will be available only through the rotunda doors located on the west end of the building. Contact Susan Yeager at (360) 902-2267 if assistance for persons with disabilities is needed.
