WHEN: Thursday, September 2, 2004, at 9:00 a.m.
WHAT:
  1. WILD STEELHEAD RETENTION MORATORIUM -- RULE AMENDMENTS:
    The Commission will consider adopting permanent rule amendments to the following administrative rules:
    WAC 232-12-619, Permanent Washington statewide game fish rules, and
    WAC 232-28-619, Washington food fish and game fish - freshwater exceptions to statewide rules.

    The proposed rule amendments would allow limited harvest of wild steelhead in selected areas and time frames. The Commission heard oral testimony regarding the rule proposals at its public hearing held August 28, 2004, in Bremerton. No further public input will be accepted during this meeting.**

  2. EXECUTIVE SESSION
    Pursuant to RCW 42.30.110(1)(i), the Commission will meet in Executive Session to discuss with legal counsel representing the Department potential litigation to which the Department is or is likely to become a party. The public will not be allowed to attend or listen to the Executive Session.

  3. GENERAL DISCUSSION
    Available Commissioners and Department staff will discuss recent activities and items of interest.
WHERE: The meeting will take place via telephone conference call. The public may listen to the discussion via speakerphone at the Department of Fish and Wildlife, Natural Resources Building, Room 172, first floor, 1111 Washington Street SE, Olympia. No public input will be accepted during the call.**
