FISH AND WILDLIFE COMMISSION MEETING

APPROVAL OF 2005 SUPPLEMENTAL OPERATING AND BUDGET REQUESTS:
Jim Lux presented the Department's proposed 2005 Supplemental Operating and Capital Budget Requests for submission to the Office of Financial Management.

Commissioner Shiosaki moved, seconded by Commissioner Hunter, to approve the Department's proposed 2005 Supplemental Operating and Capital Budget Requests for submission to the Office of Financial Management as presented. The motion carried unanimously.

PROPOSED COUGAR MANAGEMENT RULES -- BRIEFING:
Steve Pozzanghera briefed the Commission on modifications to the new proposed WAC 232-28-285, 2004-2005 Pilot cougar hunting seasons with the aid of dogs. The Department and county commissioners from Chelan, Okanogan, Ferry, Stevens, and Pend Oreille recently agreed to the proposed changes. The Commission will consider adoption of the rule proposals to implement the pilot program at its October 1-2, 2004, workshop in Olympia.

KLICKITAT HATCHERY/FISHWAY TRANSFER -- BRIEFING:
Bill Tweit and Dan Budd briefed the Commission on a proposal to transfer real title for the Klickitat Hatchery real estate and operation of the fishways to the Yakama Nation. The Commission will consider approval of the transfer at its October 1-2, 2004, workshop in Olympia.

GENERAL DISCUSSION:
Commissioners and Department staff discussed recent activities and items of interest.

Motion by Shiosaki, second by Hunter, to approve the Department's proposed 2005 Supplemental Operating and Capital Budget Requests for submission to the Office of Financial Management as presented. The motion carried unanimously.
