FISH AND WILDLIFE COMMISSION
CONFERENCE CALL

Friday, July 18, 2008 - - 8:30 A.M.

A. LOWER COLUMBIA RIVER SALMON FISHERY (LCRSF) STAKEHOLDER PROCESS – UPDATE AND DISCUSSION:
The Commission and Department staff will discuss recent LCRSF stakeholder group process developments, and the Commission will consider potential responses to recent correspondence received on the subject.

B. GOVERNOR'S LETTER TO THE COMMISSION ON FISHERIES ISSUES — DISCUSSION:
The Commission will discuss a letter from Governor Gregoire regarding salmon fishery challenges and her request for a Commission status report with recommendations due by January 1, 2009.

C. PLANNING DISCUSSION FOR JOINT MEETING WITH NORTHWEST INDIAN FISHERIES COMMISSION (NWIFC):
The Commission and Department staff will discuss plans for an upcoming meeting with the NWIFC and review proposed agenda items.

D. GENERAL DISCUSSION:
Available Commissioners and Department staff will discuss recent activities and items of interest, including final arrangements for the Commission’s public hearing on cougar management rules, which takes place July 18, 2008, beginning at 6:00 p.m. in Olympia and Spokane via videoconference, as well as set the schedule for reviewing the status of 2008 Department Goals & Objectives.

* The meeting will take place via telephone conference call. The public may listen to the discussion via speakerphone in the Commission Office at the Department of Fish and Wildlife, Natural Resources Building, 5th floor, 1111 Washington Street SE, Olympia. No public input will be accepted during the call.
