Chair Gutzwiler called the meeting
to order at 8:35 a.m.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES - DECISION:
Commissioner Wecker moved, seconded by Commissioner
Solomon, to approve the minutes of the following:
- July 18, 2008, Commission meeting
via conference call; and
- August 1, 2008, Commission meeting via conference
call.
The motion carried unanimously.
OCTOBER 3-4, 2008, COMMISSION
MEETING - DISCUSSION::
As a result of the Governor's directive to reduce
travel and expenditures, the October 3-4 Commission
meeting location was changed from Ellensburg to
Olympia. There will be an attendant at the Ellensburg
location to facilitate a conference call to the
main Olympia location during the public hearing
on mineral prospecting rule proposals, if necessary.
GENERAL DISCUSSION:
Topics of discussion included:
- Governor Gregoire's July 11, 2008,
letter to Commission re: West Coast salmon fisheries
- Columbia River Fish Working Group
- North of Falcon fisheries process
- Department's upcoming (October 1, 2008) North
of Falcon stakeholder workshop
Chair Gutzwiler adjourned the meeting
at 10:44 a.m.
