COLUMBIA RIVER SPRING CHINOOK SALMON FISHERY
As a follow-up to the January 16, 2009, Commission meeting via conference call, the Commission and Department staff discussed the upcoming Compact meeting with Oregon to discuss Columbia River spring chinook co-management issues.
Phil Anderson will convey to the Oregon Director the message that Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife staff supports the Commission’s previous decision and, in absence of a consistent policy agreement with Oregon’s Commission, the WDFW staff will not go forward with negotiations on season setting until the outstanding issues are resolved.
Vice Chair adjourned the Special Meeting at 10:07 a.m.
