Chair Wecker called the meeting to order at 8:35 a.m.

TRIPLOID TROUT DISTRIBUTION - DECISION
Craig Burley presented the proposed 2009 triploid trout stocking plan.

Commissioner Orr moved, seconded by Commissioner Perry, to adopt the 2009 triploid trout stocking plan as presented. The motion carried unanimously.

LEGISLATIVE UPDATE
Tom Davis briefed the Commission on the current status of legislation related to the conservation and management of fish and wildlife resources in Washington State.

PROPOSED HUNTING REGULATIONS PACKAGE – BRIEFING AND DISCUSSION:
As a follow-up to the March 6-7, 2009, Commission meeting in Ellensburg, Dave Ware reviewed the current status of and answered Commissioners’ questions regarding the proposed 2009-2011 hunting regulations package, which is scheduled for action at the April 3-4, 2009, Commission meeting in Olympia.

GENERAL DISCUSSION:
Commissioners and Department staff discussed recent activities and items of interest, including progress on a draft job description for the Department’s Director position and the next steps for planning the upcoming search process.

Chair Wecker adjourned the meeting at 10:03 a.m.
