WHAT:

A. LEGISLATIVE UPDATE – BRIEFING:

Department staff will brief the Commission on the status of legislation related to the conservation and management of fish and wildlife resources in Washington State.

B. COLUMBIA RIVER CHINOOK FISHERY UPDATE - POSSIBLE ACTION:

Department staff will brief the Commission on the status of spring Chinook salmon fisheries and discuss options for the remainder of the season. In compliance with provisions adopted by the Commission in Policy C-3617, the Commission may provide additional season-setting direction to Department staff.

C. JOB DESCRIPTION FOR DEPARTMENT DIRECTOR - DISCUSSION:

The Commissioners will review and discuss draft job announcement and position descriptionfor the Department Director, in preparation for the upcoming candidate search process. The Commission may take action on a final announcement/description during its May 8-9, 2009, meeting in Olympia.

D. GENERAL DISCUSSION:

Available Commissioners and Department staff will discuss recent activities and items of interest, including potential revisions to the May8-9, 2009, Commission meeting agenda.

WHERE: The meeting will take place via telephone conference call. The public may listen to the discussion by coming to the Commission Office at the Department of Fish and Wildlife, Natural Resources Building, 5th floor, 1111 Washington Street SE, Olympia. No public input will be accepted during the call.
