Chair Wecker called the meeting to order at 8:35 a.m.
PUGET SOUND CHINOOK FISHERIES MANAGEMENT PLAN – UPDATE:
As a follow-up to the Commission’s July 17, 2009, Meeting Via Conference Call, Phil Anderson provided a status update on the Puget Sound Chinook Management Plan.
DEPARTMENT DIRECTOR CANDIDATE SEARCH – UPDATE:
The Commission, along with Audrey Ely and Anthony Cesario (Washington Department of Personnel’s Executive Careers) discussed the current status of the Department Director candidate search, including number of applications received and number of qualified candidates (six). They also reviewed results from a recent public survey, search process timeline, and potential interview questions.
EXECUTIVE SESSION:
Pursuant to RCW 42.30.110(g), the Commission met in Executive Session to review employment applications for the Department Director position and to discuss the qualifications of specific applicants. The public was not permitted to attend the Executive Session. No final hiring decisions were made during the Executive Session.
Chair Wecker called the meeting back into public session, and Commissioners continued the discussion regarding the director search timeline. First-round interviews will be August 6, 2009, in Olympia.
Chair Wecker adjourned the meeting at 10:23 a.m.
