Chair Wecker called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.
2010-2012 PROPOSED SPORTFISH REGULATIONS – BRIEFING:
As a follow-up to the December 4-5, 2009, Commission meeting in Olympia, Department staff reviewed the current status of and answered Commissioners’ questions about the proposed 2010-2012 sportfish regulations package, which will be on the February 4-5-6, 2010, meeting agenda for Commission action. The Commission held a public hearing on the proposals at its December 4-5, 2009, meeting in Olympia.
DELETERIOUS EXOTIC WILDLIFE REGULATIONS – RULE BRIEFING:
Steve Pozzanghera briefed the Commission on the expedited rule-making process for housekeeping changes to WAC 232-12-017, Deleterious exotic wildlife, and WAC 232012-064, Live wildlife, that would correct the term for the American Zoological Association, correct the section number of an important rule of the Washington Department of Agriculture, and make grammatical and punctuation adjustments. The Commission will consider expedited adoption of the rule proposal at its January 8-9, 2010, meeting in Olympia.
GENERAL DISCUSSION:
Commissioners and Department staff discussed recent activities and items of interest.
