3. WILDLIFE INTERACTION RULES – RULE ACTION:

The Commission will consider adoption of permanent Wildlife Interaction Rules postponed from the May 7, 2010, meeting via conference call to this meeting. The Commission held a public hearing on the policy updates at its April 9-10, 2010, meeting in Leavenworth.

4. PROPOSED LAND TRANSACTIONS – DECISION:

The Commission will consider approval of various land transactions recommended by the Department for the protection of critical fish and wildlife habitat, provide public recreational opportunity and address responsible property management:

• Proposed acquisition of a 99.34-acre property in Grays Harbor County,
• Proposed acquisition of a 748-acre property in Okanogan County,
• Proposed conservation easement on 448.16 acres in Kittitas County, and
• Proposed acquisition of a 2.14-acre property in Snohomish County.

6. NON-TOXIC SHOT REQUIREMENTS – RULE BRIEFING & PUBLIC HEARING:

Department staff will brief the Commission on proposed amendments to WAC 232-12-068, Nontoxic shot requirements, adding two areas to the list of Department-owned lands where only nontoxic shot is allowed in order to avoid potential lead shot poisoning of wildlife. The Commission will consider final action on the proposals at its August 6-7**, 2010, meeting in Olympia.

Department staff will brief the Commission on proposed rule amendments to WAC 232-16-690 Bayview Game Reserve, to increase access to shore areas and enhance user opportunities. The proposed changes are consistent with 2010 legislation. The Commission will consider adoption of permanent rules at its August 6-7**, 2010, meeting in Olympia.

Commissioners will review the current list of Commission requests to the Department and may consider new requests.

**NOTE: During agenda item 1b, the Commission will consider changing the dates of its August meeting in Olympia from August 6-7 to Thursday and Friday, August 12-13, 2010, in compliance with legislation establishing specific dates of mandatory office closure and temporary layoffs. The Commission will also consider adopting additional changes to its 2010 meeting calendar that will help reduce travel and other meeting-related costs.
