The Commission will consider adoption of proposed updates to its Policy C-3609, Puget Sound Crab Fishery, which was last updated in February 2000.  The Commission held a public hearing on proposed policy updates at its August 6-7, 2010, meeting in Olympia.

4. PROPOSED LAND TRANSACTIONS - DECISION:

The Commission will consider approval of various land transactions recommended by the Department for the protection of critical fish and wildlife habitat, provide public recreational opportunity and address responsible property management. NOTE: the Commission may consider delaying this item until afternoon, to follow Item #8.

  • Proposed donation of 5 acres, Bergman Property, Kitsap County
  • Proposed transfer of 21 acres, Cashmere Pond Property, Chelan County; and

12. PROPOSED RESTRICTIONS FOR LEAD FISHING TACKLE ON 13 LAKES WITH LOONS RULE BRIEFING & PUBLIC HEARING:

At the request of the Commission, Department staff will brief the Commission on proposed amendments to WAC 232-28-619, Washington food fish and game fish – Freshwater exceptions to statewide rules, which would restrict the use of lead fishing gear on 13 specific lakes with nesting loons. The Commission will consider adoption of permanent amendments at its December 2-4, 2010, meeting in Olympia.
