Chair Wecker called the meeting to order at 8:31 a.m.
A. PETITION TO AMEND FALCONRY REGULATIONS – DECISION:
Nate Pamplin presented six petitions for rulemaking received from a citizen to amend the falconry regulations: WAC 232-30-151, WAC 232-30-152, WAC 232-30-153, WAC 232-30-510 and WAC 232-12-064.
Commissioner Douvia moved, seconded by Commissioner Perry, to deny the petition to amend the falconry regulations, and to direct the Department to include proposed amendments to WAC 232-12-064 as part of the next three-year hunting regulation proposal process. Motion carried.
B. PROPOSED HOUSEKEEPING AMENDMENTS – RULE BRIEFING, PUBLIC HEARING AND DECISION:
Lori Preuss briefed the Commission on proposed housekeeping amendments to WAC 232-36-051, Killing wildlife causing private property damage, to correct a reference to a nonexistent subsection, and to repeal WAC 232-12-086 and WAC 232-12-423, which were made obsolete by new rules adopted by the Commission at its April 9-10, 2010, meeting in Leavenworth.
No public signed up to testify on this proposal.
Commissioner Douvia moved, seconded by Commissioner Smith, to repeal WAC 232-12-086 and 232-12-423, and to amend WAC 232-36-051, as proposed. Motion carried unanimously.
C. SUMMARY OF COMMISSION REQUEST:
Deputy Director Joe Stohr updated the Commissioners on the status of the existing Commission requests. No new requests were suggested.
D. COMMISSION COMMITTEE REPORTS:
The Commissioners discussed activities of the various Commission committees
E. GENERAL DISCUSSION
