A. PETITION FOR RULE CHANGE, APRIL OPENING DATE FOR LOWLAND LAKES - DECISION:

Following a briefing by Fish Program staff, the Commission will consider a petition for amendments to WAC 220-56-500, Game Fish Seasons and WAC 232-28-619, Seasons and Limits.  The petitioner, Sam Martin, Mayor of Conconully, requests that the Commission commence the rule making process for potential changes to the April opening date for lowland lakes. B. COMMERCIAL SHELLFISH POT GEAR ESCAPE MECHANISMS – PUBLIC HEARING & RULE ACTION:

Department staff will review proposed amendments to WAC 220-52-035, Commercial shellfish pot gear-escape mechanism required, followed by Commission action. The Commission received a briefing at its April 8-9, 2011, meeting in Olympia.

Department staff will brief the Commission on the current status of legislation related to the conservation and management of fish and wildlife resources in Washington State.
