Chair Wecker called the meeting to order at 8:34 a.m.
A. PETITION TO Amend WAC RULES, GMU BOUNDARY DESCRIPTIONS - DECISION:
Commission discussed petition for rulemaking received from a citizen pursuant to RCW 34.05.330 (petition to Adopt, Amend or Repeal Rules) and related recently adopted WAC 232-28-336 Game management units (GMUs) boundary descriptions – Region six.
Commissioner Wecker moved, seconded by Commissioner Smith to deny the Sorenson petition for boundary change and send letter that the idea will be considered in the new rulemaking cycle. The motion carried unanimously.
B. PROPOSED 2012 DEPARTMENT REQUEST SUPPLEMENTAL OPERATING BUDGET – DECISION:
The Commission considered and discussed with staff the proposed 2012 Department Supplemental Operating Budget for submittal to the Governor’s Office presented at the August 5-6, 2011, meeting in Olympia.
Commissioner Jennings moved, seconded by Commissioner Smith to approve the request as presented. The motion carried unanimously.
The Commission considered and discussed with staff the proposed 2012 Department 10 percent GF-S Reduction Options for submittal to the Governor’s Office presented at the August 5-6, 2011, meeting in Olympia. After much discussion Director Anderson proposed a special conference call meeting on September 14th to continue the conversation.
Commissioner Jennings moved, seconded by Commissioner Perry to hold a Special Conference Call on September 14, 2011 to continue the discussion of the proposed 2012 Department 10 percent GF-S Reduction Options for submittal to the Governor’s Office. The motion carried unanimously.
D. GENERNAL DISCUSSION:
Commissioners and Department staff discussed items of general interest, including the possibility of holding the November meeting in Spokane.
Chair Wecker adjourned the meeting at 10:55 a.m.
