Species Status Review

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) is in the middle of a multi-year process to review the status of wildlife species listed as endangered, threatened or sensitive in the state.

The agency is seeking information from the public for one year on the 9 species shown below before concluding the reviews. This process allows WDFW to determine whether each species warrants its current listing or deserves to be reclassified or delisted.

Explanations for the status categories can be found on WDFW's Species of Concern Website.

The species evaluations will help WDFW and its partners to assess progress toward recovery of state-listed species. The process also will help WDFW to identify and prioritize conservation needs for these species.
