Age Data
The
following tables are summaries of age data that were collected
from commercial fisheries in Puget Sound. The first column designates
the management area from which the fish was caught. The columns
that follow are combinations of age class and the year the fish
outmigrated from freshwater. For example, the column heading "21"
represents a two year old fish that outmigrated as a fingerling
in year 1. The number "42" is a four year old fish that migrated
as a yearling in year 2. There are column headings that are either
blank or say "blanks." In these cases, scales were taken from
chinook that could not be read properly. Sometimes the age could
be determined, but not the year of outmigration. Sometimes both
pieces of information were indecipherable.
