TREATY INDIAN COMMERCIAL SEASON
The Compact adopted rules on October 2 to allow the sales of fish caught during the Yakama Nation (YN) tributary fishery in Drano Lake. According to Yakama Nation rules, the Drano Lake fishery is open 7Pm Tuesdays through noon Wednesday during October 6 – 28.
Regulations allowing the sales of platform/ hook and line caught fish in the Columbia River above Bonneville Dam remain in place, as do regulations for the YN fishery immediately below Bonneville Dam. In addition YN tributary fisheries are in place on the white Salmon and Klickitat rivers.
Allowable sales include: Chinook, coho, steelhead, sockeye, walleye, carp, yellow perch, catfish, bass and shad may be sold or retained for subsistence. Sturgeon may not be sold. Sturgeon between 43-54 inches in fork length in The Dalles and John Day pools (SMCRA 1G,1H) may be retained for subsistence. Sturgeon between 38-54 inches in fork length in the Bonneville pool (SMCRA 1F) may be retained for subsistence.
