Columbia River Spring Chinook
Sport Fishery below I-5 Bridge CLOSURE

The states of Washington and Oregon met today to review the on-going Columbia River spring Chinook sport fishery below Bonneville Dam, in the area between Buoy 10 and the I-5 Bridge and took the following action:

Effective Friday April 14th, 2006

All salmon, steelhead and shad angling will be prohibited on the Mainstem Columbia River from the mouth (Buoy 10) upstream the to the I-5 Bridge.

• No hearings are scheduled at this time. Staff will monitor the spring Chinook run and provide weekly updates. Additional hearings will be scheduled as necessary.

• Notice to Fishers: Call the "Hotline" Number to get the current fishing season. The hotline number is 360-902-2500 or 360-696-6211 *1010.
