Columbia River Compact / Joint State Action Notice

The Compact met today and took the following action:

AUGUST 23-24 COMMERCIAL FISHERY RESCINDED

The Compact rescinded the non-Indian commercial fishing period scheduled for 8 PM Sunday August 23 through 6 AM Monday August 24, 2009.

This fishery will not occur as previously scheduled.

At this time, the fishing periods scheduled for the evenings of August 25 and August 27 remain in place as previously adopted.

FUTURE MEETINGS

A Compact hearing will occur at 11 AM on Monday August 24 (via telephone).

The Compact will review the August commercial fishery to date, and consider modifications to the remaining two fishing periods scheduled in August if necessary.
