Ocean Recreational All-Species Fishery
Weeks 26 (June 29 (south) and July 1 (north))

June chinook-only recreational fishery

Ocean Area 1 (Columbia Ocean Area) opened for recreational chinook salmon fishing on Sunday, June 1 operating under the Area season guideline of 5,300 chinook. The fishery closed as scheduled on Saturday, June 28. The catch estimate for Area 1, June 23-28 is 139 chinook, for a season total of 344 chinook. The resulting chinook guideline for the all-species fishery is 4,956 chinook.

The ocean Areas between Leadbetter Point and the U.S.-Canada border (Areas 2-4) opened for recreational chinook salmon fishing on Sunday, June 1 or Tuesday, June 3, operating under a quota of 8,200 chinook. The fisheries closed as scheduled on Saturday, June 28. The catch estimates for June 23-28 are 505, 43, and 90 chinook in Areas 2, 3, and 4 respectively. The total season catch is 1,498 chinook. The remainder of the 8,200 chinook quota will be distributed between these three areas and added to the all-species fishery guidelines on an impact-neutral basis.
