Salmon/Steelhead -

Lower Columbia below Bonneville Dam - Last week we sampled 2,800 salmonid anglers with 850 adult chinook. Including fish released, boat anglers averaged a chinook per every 3.0 rods based on mainly completed trips while bank anglers averaged a one per every 4.6 rods based on mainly incomplete trips. Best success was in the Bonneville area were boat anglers averaged 0.84 adult chinook kept/released per rod and bank anglers averaged 0.44 fish per rod.

75% of the chinook caught were hatchery fish. 77% of the fish kept were of upriver origin.

Next Oregon and Washington joint state meeting to update the run and sport catches is Wednesday April 21 @ 1 PM.

Drano Lake - New boat ramp may be open beginning this Thursday (April 22).
