Salmon/Steelhead -

Cowlitz River - Boat anglers between Blue Creek and Mission averaged a summer steelhead kept for every two anglers. A few spring chinook are still being caught.

During the past week, Tacoma Power and Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife employees recovered 564 spring chinook adults, 56 spring chinook jacks, 4 winter steelhead, 60 summer steelhead during three days of separator operations at Tacoma Power's Cowlitz Salmon Hatchery.

Tacoma Power employees transported 291 spring chinook adults, 35 spring chinook jacks and 3 steelhead to the upper Cowlitz River at the Day Use Park in Lake Scanewa during the week. In addition 80 spring chinook adults and 5 jacks were transported to Packwood, Washington and released into the Cowltiz River upstream of the Skate Creek Bridge.

During the past week, Tacoma employees recycled 10 spring chinook adults and 38 summer-run steelhead downstream to the Barrier Dam boat launch.

River flows at Mayfield Dam are approximately 3,530 cubic feet per second on Monday, June 14.

Kalama River - Boat anglers averaged a steelhead kept for every three anglers. Bank anglers averaged a steelhead kept for every 8 anglers.

Lewis River - Some spring chinook and steelhead are still being caught.

Wind River - A few spring chinook are still being caught in the Coffer Dam area, although effort is light.

White Salmon - Low effort still produced a spring chinook at the powerhouse.

Klickitat River - Water dropping in mid-week produced catches of almost a fish per angler, including fish released. Spring chinook adults and jacks and some steelhead made up the catch.

Lower Columbia from the I-5 bridge downstream to the Rocky Point/Tongue Point line- Catches of steelhead picked up for anglers below Longview. Steelhead can be kept above the I-5 bridge beginning June 16.

Sturgeon -

Lower Columbia from Beacon Rock downstream - Catch was best in the Deep River/Knappton area with almost a legal kept for every three anglers.

Bonneville, The Dalles, and John Day pools - Bank and boat anglers were catching some fish. Bonneville Pool will close to sturgeon retention beginning June 25.

Walleye and Bass -

Bonneville Pool - Boat and boat anglers had some success with bass. No effort was observed for walleye last week.

The Dalles and John Day Pools - Boat anglers were catching walleye and bass.

Trout-

Battle Ground, Horsethief, Rowland, Spearfish Lakes, and Canyon Creek all received plants of rainbow trout last week.

Klineline Pond received brown trout, and Goose Lake had plants of Cutthroat trout.

Shad -

Lower Columbia below Bonneville Dam - Bank and boat anglers were very successful below Bonneville Dam, and some boat anglers caught a few in the Kalama area.
