Comments:

Surveyed in 1973 by WDFW. Fished 1974-79 as part of old Arcadia tract; 3,149,000 lbs reported from entire area. Resurveyed in 1987 by WDFW; 29 transects. Seeded with geoduck hatchery seed 1985, 1986, 1987. Combined Arcadia 1-4, and Salom Point tracts and surveyed in 1995 by WDFW; 95 total transects in survey. Arcadia 1-4 and Salom Point tracts divided along 1987 tract boundary lines. Used 43 transects from 1995 survey to estimate average density for Arcadia tracts. Tribal harvest on Arcadia 1-4 from 9/1/95 to 12/31/00 is 786,406 lbs. reported. Four Arcadia tracts re-combined and re-surveyed by Squaxin Tribe in 2002; 125 transects. Estimate is from 2002 survey.

Tract Description:
The Arcadia 1 geoduck tract is located within Pickering Passage, along the western shoreline of Squaxin Island. The tract is adjacent to and shares a common boundary with the Salom Point (#17400) tract to the north and the Arcadia 2 (#17430) tract to the south. The Arcadia 1 tract is bounded by a line projected from a point on the -18 foot (MLLW) water depth contour in the northwestern corner of the tract at 47°12.225' N. latitude, 122°55.914' W. longitude crossing easterly to a point on the -18 foot (MLLW) water depth contour in the northeastern corner of the tract at 47°12.217' N. latitude, 122°55.328' W. longitude; then continuing southerly along the -18 foot (MLLW) water depth contour to a point at 47°12.020' N. latitude, 122°55.372' W. longitude; then crossing westerly to a point on the -18 foot (MLLW) water depth contour at 47°12.072' N. latitude, 122°55.715' W. longitude; then continuing northerly along the -18 foot (MLLW) water depth contour to the point of origin. Portions of this tract boundary description fall within 200 yards (600 feet) of the MHW contour line.
