Fishermen are encouraged
to attend a post-season meeting scheduled for Thursday, December 11th,
from 10 AM to 12 PM at the Lacey Community Center, located at 6729 Pacific
Ave., Lacey WA, 98503. The meeting is an open forum to discuss the outcome
of the 2008 commercial seasons, and begin scheduling negotiation sessions
for the 2009 seasons.
For the period
of November 23rd – November 29th all areas are currently closed
except as follows:
Area 7B Bellingham
Bay is open 24 hrs per day from 7 AM Monday until 4PM Friday to
gill nets using 6-¼ inch minimum mesh size continuously through
December 5th, and to purse seines using the 5-inch strip 24 hrs per
day from 7 AM Monday until 4PM Friday through December 5th.
The portion
of Area 7B east of a line from Post Point to the flashing red light
at the west entrance to Squalicum Harbor is open to commercial
harvest continuously until 4:00 p.m. Friday, December 5th.
Area 8D Tulalip
Bay will be open to gill nets using 6-¼ inch minimum mesh
from 7 AM to 6 PM on the following dates and times:
- Monday, November
24th
- Wednesday,
November 26th
- and from 7
AM to 4 PM on Friday, November 28th.
Area 8D Tulalip
Bay will be open to purse seines using the 5-inch strip from 7
AM to 4 PM on Tuesday, November 25th. Chinook must be released.
