Rule to Change:
Canyon Creek (Snohomish Co.) (tributary to the SF Stillaguamish) from mouth to forks. Open from first Saturday in June through January 31. All game fish catch-and-release, except up to 2 hatchery steelhead may be retained.
New Rule Proposal:
Canyon Creek (Snohomish Co.) from mouth to forks. Open from first Saturday in June through January 31. All game fish catch-and-release, except up to 2 hatchery steelhead may be retained. All species selective gear rules.
Why the change is needed:
Canyon Creek has a catch-and-release fishery except for hatchery steelhead. There are no longer hatchery releases of summer or winter steelhead into Canyon Creek. Selective gear rules will reduce hooking mortality of non-hatchery summer steelhead in Canyon Creek.
