Rule to Change:
In freshwater areas (except in the Columbia River between the Buoy 10 line and the Rocky Point/Tongue Point line) SALMON, STEELHEAD, and DOLLY VARDEN/BULL TROUT to be released may not be totally removed from the water.
New Rule Proposal:
For the mainstem Columbia River salmon and steelhead fishery from the Rocky Point/Tongue Point line upstream to OR/WA border From February 15 through June 15, it is unlawful when fishing from vessels which are less than 30 feet in length (substantiated by Coast Guard documentation or Marine Board registration)
Why the change is needed:
This proposal would match Oregon's existing rule. Washington had been adopted it via emergency regulation the past several years.
