Rule to Change:
2-pole endorsement
New Rule Proposal:
2-pole endorsement should also apply to rivers, including salmon and steelhead. If there is a two salmon catch limit, once you have caught one, you can only fish with one pole. The catch rate is so low anyway with salmon that it would allow anglers to enjoy fishing more by trying competing rigs/colors/depths etc at the same time
Why the change is needed:
The catch rate is so low anyway for salmon. Why not allow it on rivers if it is allowed in lakes and ponds?

WDFW Rule Proposal Recommendation

Not Recommended for further consideration     Reference ID: DFW593713

The Washington State Legislature authorized the Department to sell a Two-Pole Endorsement allowing an angler to fish with a second fishing pole in specific waters of the state. The Department is continuing to seek additional waters where this endorsement is valid including fishing for salmon. The Department will consider additional waters for salmon fishing during the North of Falcon process this year.

Reasons not recommended for further consideration

Salmon, goes through the North of Falcon process
This proposal deals with salmon. Salmon seasons are set through the Pacific Fisheries Management Council/North of Falcon process. This process adopts a cohesive set of rules for sport and commercial salmon fisheries, from ocean fisheries to those inside Puget Sound including freshwater fisheries each year during March and April.

Your proposal will be provided to the manager(s) responsible for this species so that it can be considered during the appropriate rulemaking process.
