Rule to Change:
North coastal wild winter steelhead retention regulations
New Rule Proposal:
No more retention of wild fish on any coastal river!
Why the change is needed:
Its unbelievable that the WDFW still allows people to keep even one wild fish a year. The tribes and hatcheries do enough harm to the wild fish - please consider changing this rule immediately. The EPA has listed these fish as "threatened", if we do not act now, they will soon be extinct. The WDFW should also consider making it illegal to retain ANY wild fish on coastal rivers. The salmon are suffering too.
