Rule to Change: Game fish rules covered by Ereg during 2012-13 because of a discepancy between the WAC language and the sport fishing pamphlet.
New Rule Proposal: Propose to make game fish rules covered by Ereg during 2012-13 permanent.
Why the change is needed: During the past year, a thorough review was done between the WAC and sport fishing pamphlet. As discrepancies were found where the WAC language was not in agreement with the pamphlet, and the WAC language was determined incorrect, Eregs have been issued. This proposal makes those Eregs permanent and this will ensure that conservation concerns and recreational opportunity provided by the Eregs will continue.

Addressing the rule through the North of Falcon process will provide staff working with the public the flexibility to establish the seasons, areas and gear restrictions based on the annual abundance of returning salmon.
