Rule to Change: Early closure of Puyallup system for all fishing in January.
New Rule Proposal: Apply whitefish fishing rule to on the Carbon, White and Little Puyallup through the month of February, instead of curtailing all fishing opportunity in January.
Why the change is needed: Allow for inland fish recreational opportunity for whitefish to give local anglers a chance to fish in a local stream. Not everyone can afford to travel to the coast or Grays Harbor in this time of dwindling opportunities for inland fishers.
