Rule to Change: martha lake(wb), snohomish county, statewide rules under effect.
New Rule Proposal: martha lake(wb), snohomish county, trout: catch and release, open year round, selective gears rule in affect.
Why the change is needed: having a catch and release fishery, would enhance fishing opportunities for local "diehard" fisherman, and other fisherman in region 4. too many lakes are near depleted of trout each winter, making fishing opportunities very dismal. making a lake catch and release also, should reduce the total number of trout that need to be stocked each year, which would make more room to budget for better stocks in other nearby lakes. many fisherman, like my self, prefer to catch and release rather than retain the fish. making a lake catch and release makes it more sustainable as a fishery, and more sustainable for budget.

WDFW Rule Proposal Recommendation
Not Recommended for further consideration Reference ID: DFW531331
DFW does not have data to support regulation changes for this lake. Evaluations of the fish community and fisheries are necessary to identify appropriate regulations. Such evaluations might include stock assessments of trout and warmwater species, angler creel surveys, and further outreach to notify anglers and locals of the proposed changes.
