Rule to Change: Fazon Lake Services, a Whatcom County based boat rental & hunting blind lease service since 1972, appreciates the opportunity to give comments and suggest an emergency amendment – changing the existing restricted dates allowing fishing from a floating device on Fazon Lake, Whatcom county of Jan 15th
New Rule Proposal: changing the existing restricted dates allowing fishing from a floating device on Fazon Lake, Whatcom county to Feb 1 to coincide with the closing date of waterfowl hunting season
Why the change is needed: safety - Fazon Lake is a 32 acre lake with 6 duckblinds
& one each DFW access launch.
Because all blinds are stratified equally on lake with in 150yds of each other uniformly around the lake, there is no safezone for a fisherperson to get out of the way of shotspray pattern - utilizing 150 yds as a hurtzone.
Also fisherpersons utilizing a boat or floating device would constantly harrass the hunter and cause ducks to flare or leave because of sight exposure to the birds.

Describe their support and/or concerns:
mostly in favor because of safety reasons as long as not taking away year round fishing status of which fishing is still allowed from shore during hunting season
