Asotin County Short Description
The upper and lower zones of the Grande Ronde River have internal combustion motors prohibited. In the lower zone that prohibition is from Sept 1-May 31, and in the upper zone it is from Sept 1 to April 15. Explanation
Make rules consistent between river zones.

I live on the Grande ronde river and fish the upper river by boat with my 20hp jet and DO NOT want it to change, its the only place i have left to fish by boat.. please remove internal combustion motors prohibited.. and i have lots of friends who do also.. TACHELL, JONATHAN T October 08, 2012

Comments:
I would like to see no motorized boat traffic on the Grande Ronde. September through December this is a high use area for shore anglers and the lower river does not allow for enough space to have motorized and shore anglers together. Most floating anglers are able to navigate shallower water and there seems to be minimal conflict. Motorized use also decreases what solitude that there is. More suitable water can be found just downstream in the Snake.

As a lifelong steelheader on the lower Ronde I would like to see as long a period of excluding motorized boats as possible. Granted the fish dont show up till September but keeping motors off the Ronde for as long as possible if not year around would be desireable. It is a small shallow river and motorized boats have no place. Thanks.
