HARVEST PROFILE

The harvestable portion of this beach has been expanded by D.O.H. to include all of Lilliwaup State Park tidelands inside Lilliwaup Bay (see beach map). This beach is mostly rocky and digging is difficult, but there are some butter clams, native littleneck clams, and Manila clams available at Lilliwaup State Park.

This is a good oyster beach.

DIRECTION TO SITE

From the south (Olympia, Shelton) travel north on Highway 101 along Hood Canal. Pass through the town of Hoodsport and continue for about four and a half miles to Lilliwaup. The beach is just off the highway on the right side of the road and may be accessed from the parking area (pullout) just northeast of the Lilliwaup Creek Bridge. In March of 2006 Washington State Parks installed a new set of stairs that lead from this parking area down to the beach. There is also parking and an access trail at the pullout near the northern end of the beach, but harvesters are advised to use the stairs at the southern end of the beach. There are WDFW shellfish harvest information signs posted at both the northern access trail and near the head of the stairs at the southern parking area.

From the north (Port Angeles, Kingston) travel south on Highway 101 through the town of Eldon and continue for another six and a half miles. There is parking and an access trail about a half mile north of Lilliwaup. This beach can also be accessed via the stairs at the southern parking area which is just northeast of Lilliwaup at the corner where the highway starts to curve around Lilliwaup Bay. There are WDFW shellfish harvest information signs posted at both the northern access trail and at the head of the stairs at the southern parking area.

FACILITIES
None. There is a store in Lilliwaup and public restrooms at Hoodsport.
