Triploids for Dad! Williams Lake typically receives roughly 400 extra triploid rainbow trout of about 1-1/2 pounds each just for Father's Day weekend each year. It's one of several lakes statewide receiving these extra big trout to encourage you to take Dad fishing!
This lake was typically one of the best opening day trout lakes in the state. However, undesirable fish species (pumpkinseed sunfish) have infested the lake and are starting to compromise trout fry growth and survival. In the near future WDFW will propose and may implement fish management actions
to correct the sunfish issue in this lake and restore it to the rainbow and
cutthroat trout fishery it has been known for.
