Integrated Streambank Protection Guidelines

What is AHG?

* Guidelines Overview - Aquatic Habitat guidelines, that employ an integrated approach to marine, freshwater, and riparian habitat protection and restoration, are currently being developed. The guidelines that will be produced will facilitate the consistent application of good science and practices for project designs, construction, and operations affecting aquatic systems.

* Guiding Principles Overview - The Aquatic Habitat Guidelines are based on a number of general and topic specific principles. These principles embody our ecological values, our assumptions about how ecosystems function, and our priorities for protecting aquatic systems.

  • General Guiding Principles - General statements on ecosystem functions and project planning and implementation that outline the basis for Aquatic Habitat Guidelines.

* White Paper Overview - White papers on a number of subjects pertaining to aquatic ecosystems are being written by scientific authorities to help ensure that guidelines and any future policies and regulations incorporate the best available science.
