- No. It is illegal to hunt or possess protected native fish or wildlife or species classified as endangered or protected in Washington (WAC 232-12-011). See WAC 232-12-064.
- However, there are certain non-native species found in Washington that are not protected by state or federal regulation that a person can possess for specific purposes other than as a pet. For instance, starlings, house sparrows, and rock doves may be possessed for purposes of falconry; and rock doves for purposes of bird dog training (WAC 232-12-005).
